Introduction
● The fusible fluoroplastic represented by FEP (F46) has the processing characteristics in the process of powder granulation and blending modification: it will produce a large number of unstable end groups, and these unstable end groups must be treated. At the same time, in order to remove the volatile matter of small molecules such as solvent and emulsifier, it is necessary to carry out high-temperature melting stabilization treatment of the powder. Under normal circumstances, the processing temperature will reach 380-390 ° C. At this high temperature, due to decomposition of unstable end groups, corrosive hydrofluoric acid (HF) generated is very corrosive to processing equipment, especially screws, barrels, exhaust chambers, and die heads.
